THE PURPOSE & FLOW OF THE REVIEW

Discover it. Clarify it. Help the family decide.Discover. Don't convince.

YOUR ROLE DURING THE REVIEW

Your role is to guide the family through a thoughtful conversation while listening carefully and recording useful information.

The packet helps you remember what should be explored. It should never cause you to rush the family, interrupt an important answer or move mechanically from one question to the next.

When something meaningful is shared:

Listen.

Ask an appropriate follow-up question.

Allow silence when the family needs time to think.

Then return naturally to the Review.

THE FLOW OF THE FAMILY LEGACY REVIEW™

WELCOME

Set expectations, reduce pressure and explain that the purpose of the Review is to understand where the family stands today.

FAMILY

Understand who matters to them and what they want to protect.

CURRENT PLANNING

Learn what documents or planning they believe they currently have. Do not diagnose documents or criticize another professional.

ASSETS AND TRANSFER

Identify the major asset categories involved and what the family understands about how those assets would transfer.

DECISION-MAKERS

Explore who could handle financial and healthcare matters if help were needed.

FUNDING AND IMPLEMENTATION

Explore the family’s confidence that its planning has actually been implemented.

FAMILY PROTECTION CHECKUP™

Reflect what appears protected, what remains uncertain and what may need professional review.

PRIORITIES

Summarize what matters most to the family before discussing a possible solution.

VALUE

Connect the needs actually discovered to the Claim My Legacy™ approach: Documents + Funding + Organization + Family.

INVESTMENT

Present your stated pricing and included services clearly when appropriate.

NEXT STEP

Ask, listen and establish the action the family agrees is appropriate.

DO NOT RUSH TO COMPLETE THE PACKET

Completing every box is not the purpose of the Review.

Understanding the family is the purpose.

A useful Family Legacy Review™ may uncover questions the family cannot answer during the meeting. “I don’t know” is useful discovery. Record the uncertainty without guessing or immediately deciding what it means.

The packet should reflect what the family actually told you, not what you assumed.

USE EDUCATIONAL LANGUAGE

The Family Legacy Review™ is designed for use with families across the country.

Laws, terminology and document requirements can vary by state. Use nationally applicable educational language and never present a state-specific rule as though it applies everywhere.

When a question requires individualized legal, tax, financial or insurance guidance, acknowledge the question and route it to the appropriate qualified professional.

GUIDE THE REVIEW NATURALLY

You should know the packet well enough to locate each major section without searching through pages or reading every prompt word for word.

Maintain eye contact.

Listen to complete answers.

Take useful notes.

Follow important information when it appears.

Then guide the family back to the appropriate section of the Review.
